Ganoderma is a species name that encompasses thousands of varieties of the mushroom that can be seen growing wild on the side of trees. DXN has identified six  Ganoderma from the Red sub-species that have the greatest health benefits for humans, and, through the use of tissue culture, bred them together to produce one ‘super’ Ganoderma.

DXN harvest these special mushrooms at two different stages of their growth, as the attributes vary depending on the age of the mushroom. First harvest is made when these organically grown Ganoderma’s are 18 days old. They are not yet a mushroom as we are used to seeing, but an intricate web of roots otherwise known as mycelium. DXN powders these and puts them into capsules, marketing them as GL (short for Ganocelium) or Ganoderma Mycelium.

The second harvest is made when the Ganoderma’s have reached maturity, roughly 90 – 100 days old. DXN then powders the body of the mushroom and puts them into capsules, marketing these as RG (short for Reishi Ganoderma).

As mentioned, the elements that make up the two different capsules vary, giving the human body different benefits. What they both contain is high levels of Polysaccharides and Organic Germanium, which is why Ganoderma is so effective. Other herbs may contain one or the other of these elements, but not both and it is because of this inter-relation that Ganoderma is so highly regarded.

Polysaccharides can increase antibody count, thus boosting our immune system and eliminating viruses. It may also assist us in detoxifying and can help to reduce blood sugar levels, therefore restoring pancreas functions.

Organic Germanium can regulate blood circulation (high or low blood pressure), and increase the oxygen absorbing capacity of the body – cancer cells slow or stop growing in an oxygen rich environment. It may also regulate electrical charges in the body (cancer cells have abnormal charges), and improve the metabolism plus prevent functional degeneration.

GL (18 days old) also contains high levels of Ribonucleic Acid (RNA), which can disrupt viral diseases through interferon production. It has Oleic Acid, an effective histamine inhibitor and Cyclo-Octasulfur an even more effective histamine inhibitor. Also present is LZ-8 which acts as an immuno-modulator. GL contains four times the amount of Polysaccharides and Germanium than that present in RG.

RG (90 days old) as well as the all important Polysaccharides and Germanium, contains Adenosine which can lower cholesterol and the amount of free fat in our blood. It can assist in the balancing of the pH level in our blood and aid the prevention of ‘platelet aggulation’ or stickiness therefore preventing blockages. Present also is Ganoderic Acid, which inhibits histamine release, aiding the reduction of allergic reactions and may assist in the reduction of cholesterol and neutral fat. Add to that Ganoderic Essence, which can act as a regenerator, having great effect by assisting in the repair and beautification of our skin and tissue.

Ganoderma is an adaptogen, in that it has no side effects, is non-specific (so acts on the entire body) and normalises physiological functions.
